Nuclear Small Modular Reactors and Synthetic Fuels

AEE-SEVA

May 10 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Brian Hunt’s presentation will explore GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) nuclear power plant and its unique safety systems and approach to economical nuclear power.  We will also explore how 24/7 clean power has the potential to transform long-distance transportation with clean electricity, hydrogen, and carbon-neutral synthetic fuels (i.e. diesel and jet fuel).  This exciting potential can be achieved using only water and air as feedstocks.

Presenter Bio: Brian graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in nuclear engineering. Brian is a graduate of GE’s Commercial Leadership Program and served as GE Hitachi’s Global Marketing Leader for Nuclear Power Plants for many years.  Brian was founder and co-inventor of GE’s new BWRX-300 small modular reactor technology. Currently he is the leader of SMR innovation and emerging technologies for GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s Advanced Nuclear Products.
