Presentation Synopsis:
Alternate Design Strategy for Horizontal, Steam to Water, Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers – Horizontal, steam to water, shell and tube heat exchangers are a staple product in the HVAC and process industries. Typical designs rely on extraction of condensate during normal operation. The presentation offers an alternate approach to designing heat exchangers that flips common convention and the heat exchanger on their end, where the shell remains flooded and energy stored in the condensate is finally able to be utilized. The presentation will review common applications and key considerations for this alternate design method.
Mr. Giles Bio:
Jimmy Giles is a Sales Engineer with Jobe and Company covering the Tidewater and Richmond areas of Virginia. He has experience in providing solutions for process control, measurement, HVAC, and safety solutions for industrial, water/wastewater, and commercial applications. Jimmy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
